who is M. PoKoRa?

Matt Pokora (real name Matthieu Tota) was born on September 26, 1985 in Strasbourg, France. At 12, his parents divorced and he started writing songs instead of going to school. In 2003, he participated to the TV show "Popstars". Matthieu, Otis & Lionel were the members of Linkup. After the end of the band, Matthieu started his solo career. He wanted his name to be "Matt" but a French R&B singer, Matt Houston, already had this name : Matthieu chose the name Pokora which means "humility" in Polish. He released his first album in late 2004 and the singles "Elle Me Contrôle" & "Pas Sans Toi" were successful. In January 2006, he released his second album Player.

M. Pokora will release his new album MP3 in the States next autumn. For the moment, he continues the promotion of his album in France with "They Talk Sh*t About Me". Let's talk about his international career. MP3, M. Pokora's third album, already sold 100,000 copies & went gold disc even if it's going down in French album charts... N°74 this week. After "Dangerous", N°1 in French single charts, N°5 in TV airplay & N°15 in radio airplay, the new single will be "They Talk Sh*t About Me", already aired on NRJ, Skyrock, Champagne FM, Radio 6, Star Méditerranée, Scoop, Vitamine... released on June 9.

After "Dangerous", "They Talk Sh*t About Me" will be the second single from Matt Pokora's good album MP3, produced by Timbaland. The Strasbourg-born singer will tour this autumn & will perform at Paris' Bercy on November 18. Whereas the first single produced by Timbaland, "Dangerous" featuring Sebastian, former N°1 in France, is released in every country, the follow-up has been chosen : "They Talk Sh*t About Me". M. Pokora's new album includes guests : Ryan Leslie on "Don't Give My Love Away", Kore on "Quitte À Me Jouer" & of course Timbaland & his brother Sebastian on "Dangerous".

The singer is currently shooting his new video with the English girl Verbz who sings with him on this single. For the international market, the album will be released in May & June in Europe (it has already been released in Sweden, where "Dangerous" is successful & in Germany where it's not the same), Russia, Mexico, Brazil, Argentine, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South East Asia, India, South Africa, Israel... & in autumn for the States. Also, "Dangerous" is aired on European radios & just like Alizée, is a hit in Mexico ! M. Pokora will be in Mexico this month for a promotional planning.

Millions of rabbits and other animals are killed for their fur every single year. Most of the fur on trashy boots or the collars of tacky jackets comes from fur farms, where rabbits are kept in tiny, filthy cages for years. They spend their entire miserable lives standing on cage floors made of thin wires, never having a chance to jump, dig, or play. Fur farmers kill the animals in horrible ways—some are killed by having their necks broken or their skulls beaten in, and others are killed by anal or vaginal electrocution. Yep, you read that right.
Animals like their fur. They don't want to die so that someone else can wear it. Can you blame them?
We have already reached our first goal of 100,000 Strong Against Fur, but we still want to get as many people as possible to tell the fur industry that people are over fur and that they want animals to stop being killed for their fur. The more, the merrier!

De acuerdo con las tradiciones mexicanas, se dice que cada persona, al momento de nacer,tiene ya el espíritu de un animal, que se encarga de protegerlo y guiarlo. Estos espíritus, llamados nahuales , usualmente se manifiestan sólo como una imagen que aconseja en sueños, o con cierta afinidad al animal que nos tomó como protegidos. Una mujer cuyo nahual fuera un cenzontle tendrá una voz privilegiada para el canto.Pero no todos tienen un contacto tan leve: se cree que los brujos y chamanes del centro del país pueden crear un vínculo muy cercano con sus nahuales, lo que les da una serie de ventajas que ellos saben aprovechar. La visión del gavilán, el olfato del lobo o el oído del ocelote pasan a ser herramienta de estos videntes, e incluso la superstición afirma que algunos, más preparados, pueden hasta adquirir la forma de sus nahuales, y utilizar esta habilidad de diversas formas, no todas ellas bienintencionadas, según la tradición popular. En México, se le ha dado el nombre de nahuales a los brujos que "pueden" cambiar de forma.Sin embargo, se cree que el contacto con sus nahuales es también común entre los chamanes que buscan el beneficio para su comunidad, aunque éstos no se valen de la capacidad de transformación. Para éstos, el nahual es una forma de introspección, que le permite a quien lo practica tener un estrecho contacto con el mundo espiritual, gracias a lo cual encuentra con facilidad soluciones a muchos de los problemas que afligen a los que buscan su consejo. Un nahual es considerado como un conector de luz entre el intento y la tierra, en esencia dedica su vida por entero a la búsqueda del mundo espiritual.

Mensa es una asociación internacional de superdotados fundada en Inglaterra en 1946 por Roland Berrill y Lancelot Ware. El objetivo original, que sigue siendo el actual, era crear una asociación ajena a cualquier tipo de diferencias políticas, religiosas, ideológicas o nacionales. Mensa reúne a todo tipo de personas de cualquier procedencia y formación con el objetivo de crear un ambiente socialmente enriquecedor. Mensa acepta como prueba de ingreso un certificado expedido por un profesional del área correspondiente debidamente autorizado para ejercer su profesión y capacitado para administrar tests de cociente intelectual. Para pertenecer a Mensa es necesario estar en el percentil 98 o mayor en una prueba de cociente intelectual (por ejemplo, una puntuación de 148 de CI en la escala Cattell).Mensa tiene unos 100.000 socios en todo el mundo. El nombre de la organización procede de mensa (mesa en latín), en recuerdo a la "mesa redonda" del Rey Arturo, como símbolo de que es un club cuyos miembros son iguales en derechos y obligaciones.Paradójicamente en parte de latinoamérica, "mensa" tiene coloquialmente el significado de "tonta" o "limitada".
